A mini tornado, locally known as “ipo-ipo”, hit several barangays in Baclayon peeling off roofs and uprooting trees in the area Sunday afternoon.

The twister swept through barangays Poblacion, San Vicente and Landican past 5p.m. amid the presence of tropical storm Carina in the country.

According to residents, the twister lasted for several minutes and brought strong winds damaging properties in the said villages.

It also managed to knock down large trees in the area, villagers said.

Initial reports indicated that none of the residents in the area were hurt during the incident. (Allen Doydora)
