Golden Senior teacher-retirees possess this insight, thus they always celebrate and enjoy their birthdays. There are lots of blessings to thank the Lord for, especially this gift of life!

On May 21, 2015, several Golden Seniors attended the joint birthday celebration at Reyna’s Haven, hosted by May-born Lita Palileo, Nene Ocarol, Leny Bernaldez and Doris Tadena. Guests included Vic and Bebot Torralba, Dading Mar, Coring Ocena, Lac Ocio, Eppie Raynaldo, Precy Torralba, Venie Cabalog, Dadie Salgados, Lita Maniwang, Nita Batuhinay, Lurline Naparan, Elsa Lingo, and Glo Tejano. Naty Zapatos Johnson, who was home for a vacation, gladly joined her once co-mentors in the District of Tagbilaran. She now resides in the Land of Stars and Stripes.

A month earlier, the Golden Seniors also gathered to attend the birthday bash tendered by March-born celebrants Lurline Naparan and Babie Calamba at JJ’s Dimsum. Leonor dela Torre and Precy Torralba also birthday celebrants were unable to come. Present were Nita Batuhinay, Diane Ampong, Leny Bernaldez, Lita Palileo, Lac Ocio, Eyec Calceta, Nene Ocarol, Vic and Bebot Torralba, Eppie Raynaldo, Azon Mascariñas, Doris Tadena and Naty Teves Johnson.

After the well-wishes extended to the honorees, greetings, chikas, the shares of laughter, the sumptuous meal and picture-taking, the Golden Seniors bought home the brainy quote of Oprah Winfrey, “The more you praise and celebrate life, the more there is life to celebrate.” (By Doris Tadena)
