groupA pioneering non-stock and non- profit retiral association in the fire service of Bohol is celebrating today its second year of existence with an annual General Membership Assembly held  in  this City , this was disclosed by its incumbent President, Ret SSUPT Pepe Rebusa.

The battlecry of this year’s anniversary of the Retired Firefighters and Survivors Association of Bohol (RFSAB), Inc. is “Stay A.L.I.V.E”. (Active, Lively, Inspired, Vibrant and Energetic).

The Association  at present has 50 members composed of Compulsory, Optional and Disability retirees, surviving wives, sons/ daughters  and parents, sisters/ brothers of deceased firemen  and an institutional member, the Tagbilaran City  Firemen’s Aides Club (TFAC).

RFSAB is managed by its Board of Trustees/ Incorporators and Officers namely: retired SSUPT Pepe Rebusa, President; SINSP Zenon Tirol, Vice President; SINSP Eufenio Brua, Internal Auditor; INSP Margarito Pumatong, Treasurer; INSP Precioso Lagapa Jr and SFO4 Patrick Redulla, PROs; INSP Samuel Arisola, BFP-PGBH-CSO Liason Officer; SFO1 Ma Vilma Lopena, Secretary; Mrs. Leoncia Pahang,Property Custodian/Womens Affairs; Ms. Nestoria  Manding, Asst Treasurer and Mrs. Rachel Seplon, Asst. Secretary.

The organization is registered with the  Security and Exchange Commission ( SEC) and among  accredited Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)  of the Provincial Government of Bohol to have juridical representation in any of the Special Local Bodies. Recently, RFSAB got its institutional membership from the Retired Firefighters International based in Georgia, USA and an Honorary Patronage from a German Firefighter, F/F Udo Christiansen, who came here in Bohol to personally met and convey his intention to extends support to any project the association is in placed for the firefighters and its survivors.

RFSAB have a pivotal role to play in the progress concerning public safety and rehabilitation as they do not surrender these rights and responsibilities upon retirement. Aside from there aims and objectives to provide assistance and support to each other, in livelihood and cooperative ventures, the group is engaged in partnerships and cooperation with other organizations and government agencies most particularly in the undertakings during the earthquake relief; continuos mass feeding of children, tulong balik eskwela, and; disaster  awareness and preparations.

No less the Honorable Governor Edgar M. Chatto is the association’s Honorary Adviser .#
