After a month long negotiation, Booy Barangay Council has come into terms with the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas Bohol (SBP) to co – sponsor the 18th season of the Bohol Professionals Basketball League. It was stipulated in the pact that the games oof the BPBL will be played at the Booy covered court for free which is to start on July 28 at 7 PM.
The agreement was entered into by Rodolfo B. Madanguit, Head, Technical Committee of SBP – Bohol and Jhune Telmo , the Punong Barangay of Booy.
The BPBL is a basketball tournament which started some years ago, has been made by the busy professionals as the avenue for physical fitness as they lack time to recreate and make themselves physically conditioned to attend to their day to day chores.
Twelve (12) teams have signified their intention to join this years edition led by the defending champions BBA powered by reigning BPBL MVP Orlando Ducay.
To challenge The defending champions are: Mercenaries; Grandstand Basketball Association Team A and Team B; Holy Name U Medical Center (HNUMC); Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP); Bohol Island State U FAC STAFF/ALUMNI, TTH CLUB (TOYOTA), Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP); DU EK SAM (DES); Bohol Provincial Police Office (BBPO); Jala Law Office (JLO); United Architects of the Philippines (UAP);
The basketball hostilities is a single round robin affair with the top four (4) teams advancing to the semi finals. They will play a make or break scheme with the winners disputing the championships.while loser plays 3rd place.
The games are played on Thursdays and Saturdays at Booy at 7 PM only.
