BWS Celebrates Employees’ Day, Hails “My Teacher, My Hero” Awardees

In celebration of the World Teachers’ Day, Bohol Wisdom School held an Employees’ and Teachers’ Day program last October 5, 2015 at the school’s gymnasium.

Joaquin Miguel Gawchua and Charles Kenneth Buslon, the respective presidents of  the Supreme Pupil Government (SPG) and  Supreme Student Government (SSG) initiated the said program in cooperation of the Student Affairs Office steered by Mr. Del Mark Cagatin and Mrs. Vierne Edulan.

It was not only a mere program, but also a celebration and recognition of all the hard work and persistence all the BWS employees’ have offered for the school. Students showed their appreciation to their second mothers and fathers by offering their best talents and surprises. Of course, the teachers and staff from pre-school to college departments also wowed the audience as they shared their hidden flairs on stage. An inspiring message was also heard from Mrs. Virgilia Yap, member of the Board of Trustees.

The highlight and the most awaited part of the said celebration was the announcement of the first ever “My Teacher, My Hero Students’ Choice Award”.As he announced the winners, Mr. Cagatin quoted, “The award aims to strengthen the teachers’ human personal relationship with their students”. In the grade school department, Mrs. Zyra Ayeng, Miss Joycefe Morales, Mrs. Evelyn Monteron, Miss Jennifer Sarabia, Mrs. Lea Mari Cutamora, and Mrs. Jann Marie Jabines bagged the said award. While in the high school department, Mr. Hermilo Arbuyes Jr., Mr. Ed Vincent Cahulugan, Miss Nesie Fe Binatero, and Mrs. Norberta Romo were chosen to receive the same award. The school’s Federated Parents Guardians and Teachers Association (FPGTA) represented by Mrs. Estrellita Labaria also gave Service Awards to Mrs. Lea Mari Cutamora and Miss Nesie Fe Binatero.

The awardees were voted by the students from both grade school and high school departments. They received a plaque of recognition and a cash prize courtesy of the Federated Parents Guardians and Teachers Association (FPGTA).
