Everything is all set for the upcoming HNU Alumni homecoming set on Sunday, February 21, 2016 to be held at the HNU gym at Janssen Heights here in Dampas District, Tagbilaran City.

The day will start early at around 8:00 in the morning for the motorcade around the main thoroughfares of the city with the old Holy Name campus in the corner of Lesage and Gallares Streets as the assembly point.  It is expected that the different high school class organizations will be joining in each of their decorated vehicles.  While at the assembly point, registration of alumni will be accepted.  Registration will be continued as soon as the motorcade arrives at HNU campus at Janssen Heights.   The HNU band will lend color and music to the motorcade.

Fr. James Darunday will be the main celebrant in the concelebrated mass at HNU gym after the motorcade.  He belongs to DWC Class ’76 which is celebrating their Ruby (40 years) anniversary after high school graduation.  SVD priests at HNU led by Fr. Francisco T. Estepa, SVD, president of the university, will be concelebrating with him.  The holy mass will be assisted by the JAYRABS, an all-male choir composed of DWC alumni.

A short program and business meeting will follow after the mass.  The program will be emceed by Ms. Angeli Salgados, the current secretary of the Alumni Board.  The business meeting will be presided by the current president, Engr. Tibbs Bullecer.  Program is expected to provide fun, prizes and surprises.  The more serious part of the day’s event will be the election of eight (8) vacancies in the Board the President’s and Treasurer’s reports.

Lunch will be held right in the HNU gym potluck style.  Groups and batches will be bringing their own food.  The alumni association, though, will be providing a common food for all which will consist of “puso” and lechon.  Donations of lechon are still welcome and will be acknowledged and announced during the event.

It has become a tradition that in every HNU alumni homecoming, valuable prizes are given away to lucky registrants.  Each alumnus/a is given a coupon upon registration which they can use to claim a prize when their number or name is drawn in the raffle portion of the day.  It is, therefore, advised that each one who registers should not lose his/her raffle coupon which will entitle him/her to a prize.  Major prizes this year are:  washing machine, flat-screen TV and small appliances.

For those alumni who have not made up their mind whether to attend this once-a-year exciting event, you are enjoined to see for yourself how fun it will be to be with old friends and teachers in the HNU alumni homecoming on Sunday, February 21, 2016.
