HNUAA-TI: Looks Back, Moves Forward… Flies High

The Holy Name University Alumni Association-Tagbilaran, Inc. (HNUAA-TI), will celebrate its annual Alumni Homecoming and General Assembly on February 21, 2016 to culminate HNU Days 2016.  Theme of the day’s affair is, “Looking Back, Moving Forward… Fly High, Janssen Heights.” It will be held at the Janssen Heights Gymnasium, Dampas Campus.

To kick-off the whole day fun and memories will be a motorcade at 8:00 A.M. from Lesage Street following the route along Gallares-Palma-CPG-Cathedral, and J.A. Clarin Streets on its way to the Janssen Heights Gym.  Assembly time will be at 7:30 A.M.at  Lesage Street, near the old college building.  A maximum of two (2) vehicles per batch are allowed to join the motorcade.  Every batch is expected to decorate their respective vehicles with balloons, batch streamers, and the like.

Registration of participating alumni will start at 7:30 A.M. at the Janssen Heights Gym. The BOT members are encouraging batches to pre-register or, otherwise,register early and by groups to avoid the rush and inconvenience during the actual registration. The Registration Form is provided in the attachment. The filled-up forms may be submitted with the corresponding Registration Fee of not less than Php 50.00 per registrant at the Alumni Affairs and Job Placement Office (AAJPO), before February 21 or during the Alumni Day at the Registration Desk.  The participation ticket will entitle an alumnus/a to join the raffle draws in the course of the day’s activities. Only one batch representative may submit the form and the total fee if registering as a batch or group.  Confirmation of Batch Table Reservation is until February 19.  Only those who have reserved a table are assured to have one prepared for them during the Alumni Day.

At 9:00 A.M., a Holy Eucharist will formally start the day to be officiated by Fr. James Darunday, an alumnus whose high school batch recently celebrated its Ruby Jubilee. He will be joined in a concelebrated mass by the SVD Fathers. Wearing of Batch t-shirts are  highly encouraged, while alumni who are attending are advised to refrain from wearing very short shorts and sleeveless attire.

Business Meeting will follow at 10:30 A.M., with the reports of HNUAA-TI President,Engr. TiburcioBullecer, and Treasurer, Pedro Doroy, respectively. The Candidates for the Board of Trustees (BOT) election will be presented before the lunch break. Nomination Forms for candidates in the election of members of the BOT may be submitted at the AAJPO on or before February 20. Eight (8) slots/vacancies are to be filled-in during the election on February 21.

As part of the tradition, the BYOP fellowship meal will be shared by everyone which will be preceded with a Lechon Parade at 12:00 N.N.  after which will be the presentation of candidates for the HNU Alumni Homecoming Queen 2016.  This is a fund-raising event for the Alumni Scholarship Program and will be done on the spot. All batches are encouraged to turf a candidate whose name should be submitted not later than February 18. A Certificate of Recognition will be given to each candidate. Casting of votes for the BOT election will also commence at noon and continues while the fun events are going on. Around 1:00 P.M., the Search for Alumni Homecoming Queen 2016 will have been done. Raffles of minor door prizes, dancercise, and parlor games will be adding color to the celebration. Canvassing of votes for new members of the alumni board will follow  and the special awards will be given to special categories such as Alumni Dancing King and Dancing Queen, Most Participative Batch/Group, Best in Attendance, the Oldest and Youngest Alumni Attendee and the Most Outstanding Batch of 2015-2016, before the Proclamation of Election Winners. Raffle of the Grand Prize of La Germania Electric/Gas Range will be done towards the end of the said affair.
