The Dao, Sta. Cruz Council 16297 was recently organized.

Visayas State Deputy Anthony P. Nazario arrived last Sunday to personally witness the Charter Presentation of the newly organized Council of Dao, Sta. Cruz Council 16297. The solemn ceremony was held at the Council Chamber located at the basement of Sta. Cruz Parish, Dao District, Tagbilaran City.

The State officers were welcomed by Membership and Program Provincial Island Coordinator Augusto B. Pascual, District Deputy Glenn P. Pergamino and Council Chaplain Rev. Fr. Areston V. Limocon.

Brother Anthony P. Nazario, the second youngest State Deputy worldwide was appointed as State Deputy last June 2015. He succeeded Brother Rodrigo N. Sorongon who finished his three year term.

The Charter Presentation was also attended by State Program Director Bro. Vidal Ambrosio Jo, Jr. and State Membership Director Danilo Martinez. The two directors arrived last Saturday to attend the Charter Presentation of Immaculate Conception Council 16268, U-og, Inabanga, Bohol.

The State officers visited also Council 9329, Lindaville Subdivision where VSD Anthony P.  Nazario announced that the Visayas Jurisdiction membership goal was attained in less than a year resulting to the current worldwide standing to rank second next to Hawaii.  He also emphasized the message of Pope Francis when His Holiness said that the Knights of Columbus, the biggest male Catholic organization should be active in the evangelization of the domestic church which is the family. He also reminded the brother knights of their mandate, to be a brother’s keeper and to be visible and active in the parish.

The State officers also visited St. Isidore Council 9907, Bilar, Bohol where they had their lunch. They were welcomed by District Deputy Florencio Caina and Council Chaplain Rev. Fr. Dennis Balakid. A short informal meeting was held and thanked the council officers and members for their warm welcome and hospitality. He also invited the officers and members to attend the 11th State Convention to be held in Iloilo City on April 8-10, 2016.

In as much as Carmen is just a few kilometers away, MPPIC Augusto B. Pascual toured them to the world famous Chocolate Hills.

Meanwhile, the Bohol Center Multi-Purpose Cooperative of the Knights of Columbus will hold its Annual General Assembly on March 19, 2016 (Saturday) at two o’clock in the afternoon at the K of C Chamber, K of C Drive, Tagbilaran City.

The following day, March 20, there will be a Third degree Exemplification at JJs Seafoods Village from nine o’clock in the morning to one o’clock in the afternoon. (Abpascual)
