Some 300 Volunteer Probation Assistants (VPAs) of the Parole and Probation Administration-Department of Justice, coming from the provinces of Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor will converge on Wednesday and Thursday here for their 5th Regional Assembly, Training and Workshop.
The activity, which is conducted every two years, is spearheaded by the Regional Association of Probation Assistants Region 7 (RAVPA-7) and carries the theme: “VPAs: Towards a More Responsible and Committed Partnership.â€
These Volunteer Probation Assistants, composed mostly of barangay officials and persons of integrity, willing to share their time, talent and resources, are this Agency’s partners in the supervision of clients, the probationers, parolees and pardonees who are undergoing individualized and community-based rehabilitation program in their respective communities.
The occasion will be graced by the Deputy Administrator of the Parole and Probation Administration, Lorna A. Yumol as the guest speaker, Merly Christina Barrete-Barlaan as the keynote speaker, Regional Director Rosa H. Lacanglacang, and Assistant Regional Director Rosana V.
