Barely four days before the May 9 polls, the so called silent majority rooting for the Liberal Party (LP) president and vice presidential bets did not remain silent but made their voices heard when they aired their overwhelming support for standard bearer Mar Roxas and his vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo.

For the first time since DYRD “Inyong Alagad” conducted phoned in surveys at the start of the campaign period, to gauge the Boholanos pulse on voters preference, the Roxas-Robredo tandem are on solid ground grabbing the lead from the erstwhile popular and survey frontrunner Davao City Mayor and Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Laban (PDP-Laban) presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte and his vice presidential bet Nacionalista Party (NP) Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.

DYRD’s top rated “Inyong Alagad” program asked listeners this morning, Thursday, May 5, 2016 “Four days before the May 9, 2016 elections, who is your choice for president and vice president and why?”.

A total of 79 respondents phoned in their choices in the one hour and a half program explaining the reasons for their preferences for president and vice president with “continuity of Daang Matuwid” for Roxas and Robredo and “change” for Duterte-Cayetano.

In the presidential derby, Roxas got 67% while Duterte pooled 33% . None of the respondents voted for Vice President Jejomar Binay and Sen. Grace Poe.

LP’s Robredo also pooled the majority of 72% of the respondents while Sen. Allan Peter Cayetano got 25% while Sen. Bongbong Marcos got 3%. No one voted for former Sen. Gringo Honasan and Sen Sonny Trillanes,

As the campaign period winds down on Saturday, May 7, 2016, Bohol, considered an LP stronghold, Roxas gained lost ground and have narrowed the gap between him and Duterte while Robredo has strengthened her grip on the vice presidential race in Bohol. (Chito M. Visarra)
