Tourist guide falls in drug bust

Armed with a search warrant, a police team raided the house of a suspected drug dealer in Purok 7, Barangay Booy, Tagbilaran City on Wednesday night, 10:30, May 4, 2015.

The warrant was served to Alberto Galao alias “Abet”, 32 years old, single who told the police that he worked as a tourist guide on boats carrying tourists to various islands in Bohol.

The raiding team found 3 packs, eight sachets and a pouch containing suspected shabu.

According to Senior Police Officer lV (SPO4) Yolando Bagotchay, Jr. of the Intelligence Section of the Tagbilaran City Police Station, the area of operation of Galao covered towns as far as Loay.

The nine man team of the City Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group (CAIDSOTG) together with two agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was led by Tagbilaran City Police Chief, Police Superintendent George Vale.

The search warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court Branch 47 Executive Judge Suceso Arcamo and the raid was witnessed by a representative of the Department of Justice Booy Barangay Captain Eutorgio Telmo, Jr. and members of the local media.

Meanwhile, another buy bust operation resulted in the arrest of Reynaldo Gumapac, 37 in Purok 6, Barangay Fatima, Ubay, Bohol.

Gumapac was caught red handed with a medium pack containing suspected shabu after the suspect accepted P500 marked money from a police poseur-buyer.

According to Ubay Police Chief, Police Senior Inspector (PSI) Joseph Berondo, the buy bust operation is part of their relentless drive against the illegal drugs in Ubay. (Chito N. Visarra with reports from Rey Tutas)
