Among the 47 towns and one city in Bohol, four towns and Tagbilaran City registered the highest number of voters for the May 9, 2016 elections.

Topping the list is Tagbilaran City with 59,949 registered voters followed by Ubay 41,792, Talibon 33,211, Carmen 29,767 and Loon with 27,676 voters.

The five towns bringing up the rear or having the lowest registered voters are Sikatuna with 4,647, Corella 5,140, San Isidro 6,509, Alburquerque 6,698 and Lila 6,835 voters.

Tagbilaran City and Loon belong to the 1st district, Talibon and Ubay in the 2nd district and Carmen in the 3rd district.

District wise, the 3rd district with 19 towns topped the list of the most number of registered voters at 272,560, 1st district with 14 towns and one city 268,381 and 2nd district with 14 towns and 257,827 voters.

The 798,768 registered voters in Bohol will cast their votes in the 1,546 clustered precincts each with a vote counting machine (VCM) that is configured to accept and record not more than 1,000 votes.

The 5,471 precincts were clustered to accommodate the 1,546 VCM’s to be used in the elections in the 1,109 barangays in Bohol. (Chito M. Visarra)
