Antequera Councilor Cecil Rebosura took over as the interim president of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Bohol Chapter after the failure of the group’s former leader to secure a council seat.
Rebosura was selected to be the PCL’s acting head as the group’s former president Antonio Ouano Jr. ended his term yesterday after a failed councillorship bid in Getafe, while its previous executive vice president Rochelle Imboy is now the Mayor of Loay.
Rebosura took oath before Governor Edgar Chatto as she took over the influential government organization at Tagbilaran City Hall yesterday during the inauguration of elected city officials.
The new PCL president has been in public service for a long time as she was a mayor and vice mayor for one term each in Antiquera while she has been a councilor for a total of 12 years in the said town.
Rebosura who continues to do her duties as a legislator in Antequera will convene officials from the province’s municipal councils.
She will work with the Department of Interior and Local Government to prepare for the upcoming elections of the local PCL.
Rebusora is only one of the reported councilors who will run for the group’s presidency. (with reports from Rey Tutas)
