The passenger of a Southern Star Bus who was arrested by a policeman after accidentally dropping what appeared to be shabu may be off the hook as the police crime laboratory reported that the contents of the packets confiscated from the suspect were not the said illegal drugs.
The recently released chemistry report by the Bohol Provincial Crime Laboratory Office confirmed that the contents of the sachets confiscated from the suspect, Dennis Perocho, 24, were not shabu.
Perocho, a security guard at the Bohol Ice Plant, was arrested by a seatmate cop, PO3 Romeo Golosino of the Provincial Public Safety Company, after the sachet of what was thought to be shabu fell from his pocket.
After the incident, Golosino reportedly found another packet when he frisked Perocho.
Perocho admitted that he had been using shabu before but denied that the sachets were his as he had broken the habit and has since stopped engaging in the illegal activity.(with reports from Willy Maestrado)
