Two unidentified suspects held up a gasoline station in Barangay Nahawan, Clarin yesterday afternoon.
According to Clarin police, one of the two suspects held the 53-year-old female owner and cashier of the gas station at gunpoint after the pair filled up their motorcycle’s gas tank.
The victim, Paulina Balansag, thought that one of the suspects was about to pay upon approaching her but he pulled out a gun and pointed it at her instead.
The suspects, who had helmets on and their faces covered with cloth, were able to rob P8,000 from the establishment, Balansag said.
The suspects fled toward Inabanga upon getting the money as the victim immediately handed over her earnings for the day out of fear.
After being contacted by Balansag, the Clarin police immediately notified Inabanga authorities of the incident but they were unable to spot the suspects.
Police said that the pair did not reach Inabanga and could have taken another route heading toward another direction.
The authorities said that the gasoline station had already been held up last year while the victim noted that based on the suspects’ movements, the two could have been the same robbers who perpetrated the previous crime. (with reports from Allen Doydora)
