A total of five barangay officials in Jagna who confessed to drug use surrendered to municipal cops as a result of town authorities’ continued campaign against illegal drug activities.
Chief Insp. Almirante Bacayo, chief of the Jagna police, told DYRD Balita that the five officials voluntarily admitted their drug involvement while five barangay tanods also yielded for using illegal drugs.
Bacayo however declined to name the 10 self-confessed drug users.
Amid the Jagna authorities’ continued implementation of Oplan Tokhang, 1,021 people admitted their involvement in illegal drug activities and pledged to stop selling and using drugs.
Forty-five of the said figure are minors from different barangays in Jagna who admitted to drug use.
The Jagna police also reiterated its call for remaining drug users and pushers to surrender and cut their involvement in illegal activities.
As part of the town’s drive against drugs, authorities organized a fun run for the self-confessed drug personalities which will be held at the Jagna Insular Plaza.
Meanwhile, members of the Bohol Philippine National Police Crime Laboratory conducted surprise drug testing among members of the Jagna police force led by Bacayo.
Results of the random testing indicated that 24 police and four non-uniform personnel of the Jagna Police Station are not drug users, Bacayo said. (with reports from Rey Tutas)Â
