Tagbilaran City police arrested one of the alleged top drug dealers in the city who yielded 150 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P1.5 million in a buy-bust operation conducted in Barangay Taloto on Friday afternoon.

Suspect Filmore Escobilla, 26 and a resident of Purok 11 in the said barangay, attempted to elude police arrest but was immediately collared by operatives surrounding the buy-bust area.

The suspect reportedly noticed the ongoing police operation after he sold suspected shabu worth P500 to an undercover cop.

Police also apprehended Escobilla’s companion alleged drug runner 23-year-old Lamars Sapong who was caught in possession of four packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.

According to Tagbilaran police chief Supt. Nicomedes Olaivar, Escobilla is included in the list of top 10 drug personalities in the city.

The suspect had also recently surrendered to authorities and vowed to cut involvement in drug activities, Olaivar added.

The suspects are currently jailed in the detention facility of the Tagbilaran City police pending the filing of charges against them. (Willy Maestrado)
