Getafe police apprehended the aunt of slain alleged Central Visayas drug lord Rowen “Yawa†Secretaria in buy-bust operation on Tuesday at the island-barangay of Banacon in the said town.
Suspect 54-year-old Consorcia “Siang†Secretaria, reportedly a trusted associate of Rowen in his illegal drug operations, was arrested together with live-in partner Japeth Estorgio late in the evening.
According to the Getafe police, Consorcia and Estorgio previously yielded to authorities for both drug dealing and use after being subjected to Oplan Tokhang but continued to engage in illegal activities.
Operatives recovered seven packs of suspected shabu from the two suspects during the buy-bust.
Police noted that pushers still peddle drugs in the area even after they had surrendered to authorities, citing lack of livelihood as reason behind the resumption of their illegal businesses.
However, big-time drug activities in the area significantly plummeted after the killing of Rowen in a shootout with police officers on May 28, 2016.
A police patrol base remains in Brgy. Banacon, which is formerly the hideout of Rowen, to monitor activities in the area as the island is reportedly used as entry point of contraband from Cebu. (Allen Doydora)
