Some of the 10 drug lords in the region considered to be “high-value targets” of regional law enforcers might be in Bohol according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7).

The said big-time drug personalities reportedly took over illegal narcotics trafficking in the region from jailed or slain drug lords including Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz and Rowen “Yawa” Secretaria, who were both killed in police operations.

According to newly appointed PDEA-7 chief Yogi Ruiz, fallen leaders of drug syndicates are often immediately replaced by new drug lords.

Ruiz noted that PDEA-7 operatives are already monitoring their possible hideouts in Visayas particularly the slew of islets across the region.

Last May 29, Secretaria was gunned down during a shootout against police at his safe house located in the island-barangay of Banacon, Getafe.

Meanwhile, Supt. Nicomedes Olaivar, Tagbilaran City police chief, confirmed that high-value drug targets remain widespread throughout Bohol, noting that anti-illegal drugs operations continue to yield large amounts of shabu.

He said that while there is demand for the illegal substance in Bohol, big-time shabu suppliers will continue operations.

Despite his revelation, Olaivar expressed confidence that illegal drug activities in the province will be stamped out as he warned drug personalities that their lives are in constant danger while they have not surrendered to authorities. (Allen Doydora)
