Clarin Mayor Allen Rey Piezas was elected as president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Bohol Chapter while Tagbilaran City Vice Mayor Jose Antonio Veloso, now heads the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines (VMLP)Bohol Chapter.
The leagues play very important roles in the governance framework of all component local government units of the province.
Hence, the capacity development of each officials facilitated by strong league of local officials including the LMP & the VMLP.
Gov. Edgar Chatto inducted the LMP officers led by Piezas. Other officers inducted were Jagna Mayor Fortunato Abrenilla, executive vice president; Balilihan Mayor Pureza Veloso, Trinidad Mayor Judith Cajes and Candijay Mayor Christopher Tutor, vice presidents for 1st, 2nd and 3rd districts, respectively.

Meanwhile, Tubigon Vice Mayor Billy Fortich was elected executive vice president of Veloso in the Vice Mayor’s League. Other officers elected were Alburquerque VM Cayetano Doria, Jr., Danao VM Jose Cepedoza and Bilar VM Arnold Calamba as Vice president for 1st, 2nd and 3rd districts, repectively; Sevilla VM Richard Bucag, secretary; Mabini VM Jesha Toque, asst secretary; G-Hernandez VM Lito Dajalos, treasurer; Catigbian VM Necita Digaum, asst treasurer; Antequera VM Leo Jadulco, auditor.

During his induction ritres, Chatto urges all members of the leagues to take active roles in the strengthening of each league.
The governor likewise assures full support & coordination in the different league programs & activities.
It may be recalled that Gov. Chatto himself was re-elected Secretary General of all governors during the League of Provinces in the Philippines (LPP) assembly recently.
He also served in various leagues and was the pioneer Secretary General of ULAP or Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines.
The acronym ULAP is Chatto’s brainchild suggestion carried out by all leagues.
He also served as the National Secretary General of LMP, President of the Vice Governor’s League and National President of the National Movement of Young Legislators or NMYL.
