The Philippine National Police’s crackdown on illegal drug activities in the province continues as five suspected drug personalities were rounded up by operatives of the Bohol police Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) on Sunday dawn in Sitio Bajong, Barangay Dao.
The authorities arrested suspected drug pusher Renante Camarote, a resident of the said barangay, in a buy-bust operation and four other alleged drug personalities who were caught sniffing shabu inside the suspect’s residence.
Camarote tried to flee after sensing he sold shabu to a police-poseur buyer but was cornered inside his home.
In their pursuit of Camarote, police chanced upon Jennyl Camarote, the alleged pusher’s gay brother, suspected drug runner Alexander Sumile, Luther Jaycetin and Margie Justiniane who were caught engaging in a pot session.
Operatives recovered five sachets and four medium-sized packets of suspected shabu from the four alleged drug personalities.
According to Police Supt. Patrticio Degay, PPSC chief, Renante Camarote is included in their watch list of drug pushers.
Even after being subjected to Oplan Tokhang, the suspect did not surrender to Tagbilaran City police and reportedly continued to peddle drugs, prompting the PPSC to conduct the buy-bust against Renante Camarote, Degay said. (Willy Maestardo)
