The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) will hold on Sunday at the Holy Name University, its entrance exams for cadet hopefuls in Bohol who will be given a chance to earn a scholarship for the country’s premier military school.
Priest Lieutenant Col. Carlito Buslon who is from the province urged Boholanos, particularly underprivileged youth who are hardworking, to take the rare opportunity.
Those qualified to take the exams are natural-born Filipinos aged 17 to 21 and are at least 5 feet tall.
Applicants should be physically fit and not facing criminal cases, and be able to present themselves before PMA officials who will be administering the exams.
Recent high school graduates should have a general average grade not less than 85 while those who are enrolled in college should present their most recent grades.
Applicants are to bring birth certificate from the National Statistics Office or the Local Civil Registrar, two pencils, 2×2 colored picture with white background, official identification card, and school Form 137-A or most recent grades for those enrolled in college.
Those will be admitted to the PMA as cadets will be receiving P35,000 worth of salary and allowance.
After graduating from the institution, cadets will be automatically promoted as 2nd lieutenants of the Philippine Army and Philippine Air Force or ensigns of the Philippine Navy.
Currently, there are 10 Boholano cadets enrolled in the PMA. (Rey Tutas)
