A suspected pusher ranked fifth in the Bohol police watch list of drug personalities was arrested on Friday evening by police operatives in a buy-bust operation.
Units of the Bohol police Provincial Intelligence Branch (PIB) and the Valencia police conducted the joint operation against Allan Balite, 44, in Sitio Badiang, Brgy. Anas, Valencia.
Authorities said that the suspect attempted to escape arrest but was immediately subdued by police officers stationed around the buy-bust area.
Balite reportedly suspected that he was transacting with a police poseur-buyer prompting him to flee toward the national highway in the said village where he was finally caught and handcuffed.
Police reports noted that Balite  sold a pack of suspected shabu worth P500 to the undercover cop while the alleged pusher yielded four packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia as he was frisked by the authorities.
According to Chief Insp. Roland Antipolo, team leader of the responding PIB unit, Balite was previously detained for possession of illegal drugs.
Antipolo said that the suspect continued to peddle shabu in Valencia and neighboring towns which prompted the PIB to set the anti-drug operation in motion.
Balite is currently locked up at the detention facility of Camp Dagohoy in Tagbilaran City pending the filing of charges against him. (Willy Maestrado)
