The Philippine Science High School (PSHS) system, one of the service institutes of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is now accepting applicants for the PSHS Scholarship Exam for school year 2017-2018.

PSHS is the academic institution tasked to develop talents of students who have strong inclination in Science and Mathematics. The scholarship covers completely free high school education, with monthly allowance, health insurance and other scholarship privileges.

Applicants who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:

Belong to the upper 10% of the batch (SY 2015-2016, during grade 5) and does not have a grade below 80 as certified by the School Principal or Registrar. If the applicant does not belong to the upper 10%, he/she should have special aptitude in science and math as evidenced by the report card, with at least a final grade of 85 in Science and Math and 80 in all other subjects;

 ADVERTISEMENT 

be a Filipino citizen with no pending application as immigrant to any foreign country;

be born on or after August 1, 2002;

have at least satisfactory rating (or its equivalent) in his/her Character Rating in his/her report card (SY 2015-2016)

be in good health and fit to undergo a rigorous academic program;

not have taken the PSHS NCE previously.

Each applicant must submit the following requirements:

Fully accomplished application (forms were already distributed to all elementary schools in the province c/o the School Principal);

Clear copy of Grade 5 report card;

Two (2) identical and recent 1 x 1 ID pictures (color or b/w)

One hundred pesos (P100.00) testing fee (for private school applicants only), testing fee for applicants coming from public schools are free.

 ADVERTISEMENT 

There will only be one Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) to be administered on October 22, 2016, 7:00 a.m. at BISU Main Campus in Tagbilaran City. The exam will determine the scientific ability, quantitative ability, abstract reasoning and verbal aptitude of each applicant.

Deadline for submission of application forms to DOST Provincial Office at 52 Lino Chatto Drive, Cogon Dist.,  Tagbilaran City will be on September 2, 2016.
