The Bohol Tripartite Industrial Peace Council (Bohol TIPC) chaired by Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” L. Yap, II will hold  a Specialized Learning Session on DOLE D.O. No. 150-16 “Revised Guidelines  Covering the Employment & Working Conditions of Security Guards & other Private Security Personnel in the Private Security Industry” on August 24, 2016 at JJ’s Seafoods Village, K of C Drive, Tagbilaran City from 8:00 to 12:00 noon.

“This is in compliance with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s standing policy direction addressed to all concerned to adhere strictly with the General Labor Standards and other applicable existing rules and regulations,” according to Mr. Gerry Guidaben, DOLE Bohol chief.

All security agencies and their clients or principals and all other establishments employing security guards are invited to attend this very important undertaking.

Among important issues to be discussed is the “solidary liability” where it refers to the liability of the client/principal, in the same manner and extent that the client/principal is liable to their direct employees, to the extent of the work performed under the contract when the Security Agency fails to pay the wages of their employees, as provided for in Article 106 of the Labor Code, as amended.

Also, when the Security Agency is found to be engaged in labor-only contracting, the principal shall be jointly and solidarily liable with it in the same manner that the principal is liable to employees directly hired by them and when the Security Agency is found to be an in-house agency, the principal shall be the direct employer of the security guards deployed.
