Inabanga police chance upon five alleged users in possession of suspected shabu during their pursuit of a suspected pusher attempting to escape arrest.

Police rounded up on Sunday a suspected drug peddler from Cebu City and five alleged users in a buy-bust operation at Barangay Sto. Rosario, Inabanga.

Marcus Lopez, chief of the Inabanga police, said that the buy-bust subject, Rommel Caballareo, a native of Brgy. Pasil in Cebu City, was dealing drugs in Bohol with supplies from the said city.

Caballero’s alleged drug activities landed him on the Inabanga authorities’ drug watchlist and prompted the police to conduct the anti-drug operation.

During the buy-bust, Caballero reportedly attempted to escape arrest as he noticed that he was subjected to an entrapment.

However, the suspect was not able to go far and instead led the police to his five companions, including a minor, who were all caught in possession of suspected shabu.

The operatives apprehended the said suspected users, who are residents of Barangay Bugtong Bod, Clarin, namely Rosil Paclipan, Romil Molina and Virgilio Miranda, an allaged drug personality  included in the town’s drug watchlist.

Police also rounded up 20-year-old Ryan Abadingo, a resident of Can Linte, Inabanga and a minor whose identity was not disclosed.

The suspects are currently detained at the lockup jail of the Inabanga police station pending the filing of drug charges against them. (Willy Maestrado)
