It is unlikely that motorists in Tagbilaran City will still find free parking spaces in streets across the city, particularly in business areas.

According to City Administrator Leonidas “Edi” Borja, more pay parking slots will be set up in Tagbilaran City following the strict implementation of the clamping and towing ordinance on Thursday.

Borja said that those who will use pay parking spaces will be charged P20 for the first three hours.

No one will be exempted from paying the fees of the said areas, even business owners parking near their establishments, Borja added.

Since the implementation of the new ordinance, motorists will have to use the pay parking areas or the remaining free and legal parking spots, otherwise they will have to pay fines if their vehicles are clamped for illegal parking.

The strict implementation of the new city rules and regulations is intended to mitigate traffic congestion in Tagbilaran City. (Allen Doydora)
