Personnel of the Tagbilaran City Philippine National Police (PNP) are now tightly monitoring 20 minors who are noted thieves following a spate of house break-ins in the city.

This, after city police chief Supt. Nicomedes Olaivar directed operatives of the Tagbilaran City PNP theft and robbery section to conduct surveillance operations on the young alleged thieves.

Olaivar told DYRD Balita on Thursday that police officers have already been deployed to various barangays where the said thieves usually operate.

The chief of police admitted that their main blotter is filled almost daily with entries involving break-ins and theft.

Through their investigations, police found out that perpetrators of most of the said crimes are minors.

Olaivar also said that break-ins of establishments is the leading crime problem in Tagbilaran City based on the latest police data.

Following law enforcers’ crackdown on crimes, however, police found out that some of the noted juvenile thieves have already moved out of the city while others have stopped their involvement in the criminal activity. (Willy Maestrado)
