Two men on board a dump truck were hurt as the said vehicle lost its brakes at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Antequera.
The police identified the truck’s driver as Glenn Patac, a resident of Brgy. Baucan Sur, Balilihan and the passenger as Digno Gentallan, a resident of San Roque, Maribojoc.
According to PO2 Vincent Ocon, Patac intentionally rammed the truck into the foot of a cliff in Barangay Tagabaas in the said town, as the vehicle lost its brakes.
Ocon told DYRD Balita that the truck loaded with limestone was travelling from Candabid, Maribojoc.
He said that the vehicle lost its brakes at a steep incline along a road in Antequera prompting Patac to stop the truck by crashing it into the cliff.
Residents in the area reportedly removed Gentallan from the ill-fated truck while Patac was able to jump out of the vehicle before the collision.
They were both rushed to a nearby hospital sustaining minor injuries.
Police said that the truck damaged a water pump in the said village as the vehicle figured in the accident.
The truck, with plate number XCA-722, is reportedly owned by one Raul Garsuta, a resident of Brgy. Bitaugan, Antequera. (Rey Tutas)
