A man in Loay who apparently slashed his own stomach open died as he was rushed to a hospital in Tagbilaran City on Wednesday night.

The victim was identified as 58-year-old Dario Barrete, a resident of Brgy. Agape, Loay.

According to Barrete’s cousin, Noel Imboy, the incident took place at around 8:45 p.m.

Barrete reportedly went to the kitchen after he had his dinner and was later on found drenched in his own blood.

The victim reportedly used a knife to slash his stomach.

He was rushed to the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Barrete is believed to have suffered a mental condition which may have led to his apparent suicide. (Allen Doydora)
