The Bohol police killed 20 and arrested 397 drug suspects in legitimate operations while confiscating shabu worth P8,819,450 in almost 3 months of its intensified anti-drug drive.

The figures, based on data gathered until Sept 21, 2016, were disclosed by Supt. Lorenzo Batuan, operations chief of the Bohol police, during the monthly Provincial Peace and Order Council meeting on Thursday.

The Bohol Provincial Police Office was able to seize P2,461,952 and P4,388,904 in July and August, respectively.

In September, police operatives confiscated P1,968,594 in 21 days of anti-drug operations.

From July to Sept. 21, the 397 collared drug suspects yielded a total of 747.41 grams of shabu sourced from the city and various towns.

In the same period, 608 drug-related cases were filed in court, said Batuan.

Since the implementation of the intensified drive against illegal drugs, shabu supply in the province started to dwindle.

Previously, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7 director Yogi Ruiz said that shabu prices have increased, indicating scarcity of supply in the market.

Shabu prices in Bohol have increased from P300 to P500 per sachet, from P2,500 to P3,400 per gram, and from P12,000 to P16,000 per 5g or “bulto.” (Rey Tutas)
