The three victims including the fatality were thrown away to different directions when their scooter figured in an accident.

A 23-year-old woman was killed in a road accident after the driver of the motorcycle she was on lost control of the vehicle in Carmen on Sunday afternoon.

The victim, identified as Ann Mae Taldo, a resident of Brgy. Bicao, Carmen, died on the spot while her two sibling companions were rushed to the hospital.

According to PO2 Ghee Ilaw of the Carmen police station, Taldo and her siblings, 26-year old Annabelle and 18-year-old Andrew, the driver, were travelling from Sierra Bullones on board a Mio scooter.

Ilaw said that the siblings attempted to overtake a motorcycle along the national road in Brgy. Katipunan when their scooter suddenly wobbled causing the driver to lose control and the vehicle to eventually crash.

The Taldos were reportedly travelling at 80 kilometers per hour when the freak accident took place throwing the three victims who were not wearing helmets to different directions.

Residents in the area immediately helped the two victims and called an ambulance while Ann had already succumbed to her injuries.

Both victims are still in the hospital including Annabelle who is still in critical condition while their sister is now at Taldos’ home where her wake is held. (Allen Doydora)
