A team formed by Newface Philippines, Inc. will hold a three-day surgical mission in Carmen for those with cleft palate and cleft lip starting October 13 until October 15.
The free surgery will be offered at the Simeon Toribio District Hospital in Carmen, said Gigi Sargado, one of the organizers for Newface.
According to Sargado, patients need not worry about taking part in the operation as it is completely free while only a few requirements will be needed.
Sargado said that the group would also even pay for patients’ fare and food during the operation.
She added that the mission is intended to help patients from indigent families as such an operation can cost up to P100,000 in private hospitals.
The 3-day mission is the third of its kind organized by Newface in Bohol, Sargado said.
In March, 30 patients with cleft palate and cleft lip were operated on by doctors brought by Newface.
