Scuba diver survives knife attack in Panglao

A 22-year-old scuba diver was attacked by a knife-wielding suspect in Panglao in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Victim Silvester Arangkis, a native of Mindanao currently living in Brgy. Tawala, Panglao, was reportedly eating balot on the street when the unidentified suspect suddenly stabbed him at around 3 a.m.

Arangkis sustained seven knife wounds in his head, left hand, and chest.

The suspect immediately fled the scene while the victim was rushed to the hospital where he is still currently being treated for his injuires.

According to police investigation, the incident may have been triggered by a fistfight between the victim and another man prior to the stabbing, as cops cited revenge as possible motive.

Police are still conducting follow-up investigations while the man who allegedly engaged Arangkis in a brawl is in their custody. (Allen Doydora)
