2 city drug suspects nabbed in separate buy-bust ops

Police arrested Bacsan (left) and Chiu (right) in separate buy-bust operations in Tagbilaran City.

Two alleged drug pushers were arrested by police authorities in separate buy-bust operations conducted in Tagbilaran City on Thursday and Wednesday.

Police identified the suspects as Emmanuel Bacsan, a native of Sikatuna town living in Brgy. Cogon, Tagbilaran City, and Edwardson Chiu, a resident of Brgy. Taloto in said city.

Bacsan was allegedly caught by police officers of the Provincial Intelligence Branch selling shabu worth P500 to an undercover.

The suspect was caught in possession of 12 other packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.

However, in an interview with DYRD Balita, Bacsan denied that the illegal drugs allegedly found in his possession are not his.

According to Chief Insp. Roland Antipolo, team leader of the PIB team, Bacsan is a newly identified drug personality.

Another police team on Wednesday conducted a buy-bust operation against Chiu in Janssen Heights, Brgy. Dampas, Tagbilaran City.

Chiu was arrested by members of the Provincial Public Safety Company (PPSC) and Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit after he allegedly sold shabu worth P500 to a police posing as buyer.

The operatives confiscated from Chiu o.10 grams of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.

Police Superintendent Patricio Degay Jr, chief of the PPSC and SWAT said that Chiu is included in their listof newly knwon drug personalities in Bohol.

Both suspects are currently detained at the lock-up jail in Camp Dagohoy, Tagbilaran City pending the filing ofcharges against them. (Wellie Maestrado)
