The Department of Labor and Employment in Central Visayas (DOLE-7) will conduct a series of consultations and hearings in relation to a petition for a salary increase in Bohol and the rest of the region.

According to DOLE 7 Director Exequil Sarcuaga, preparations for the four-part public consultations have been completed and are set to be conducted in various cities in the region.

Sarcuaga said they have already filed the petitions of various labor groups in Central Visayas before the office of the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB).

The third part of the series will be held in Tagbilaran City on November 25, 2016 while the final segment will be in Dumaguete City on December 2, said Sarcuaga.

Cebu City will host the first leg of the consultations at the Sarrosa International Hotel and Residential Suites in Mabolo and the second will be held at Bogo City on November 16.

According to Sarcuaga, the first petition was filed by the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines which aimed at a P-161 daily across-the-board wage hike in Region 7 while the Sentro or Alliance of Progressive Labor asked for a P140-increase.

The last group to file a petition was the Philippine Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Workers’ Union. (Rey Tutas)
