In need of Christmas ornaments?Inmates of the Bohol District Jail (BDJ) have been given the chance to show off their craftsmanship by making decorations for the holidays and selling their products to the public.

According to BDJ information officer Eric Zabala, inmates of the penal facility will be making parols and other Chirstmas decorations in time for the Yuletide season.

The decors are made-to-order so materials used by the inmates will not be wasted, Zabala said.

In previous years, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) had also implemented the same project but some of the parols and other products were not bought.

Zabala urged the public to support the BJMP project by buying products to provide income for the inmates during the Christmas season while serving time.

He said that the inmates’ crafting skills were honed through workshops held inside the correctional facility. (Allen Doydora)
