Three gay men and an ex-convict who served time for illegal drug possession were arrested in a buy-bust operation on Wednesday night in Barangay Poblacion, Tagbilaran City.

Buy-bust subject Mario Balo who was previously found guilty of a drug charge was arrested near his residence at 10:30 p.m. along E. Butalid St. of said village.

Police said that Balo, 33, ran as he attempted to evade arrest after suspecting that he sold shabu worth P500 to an undercover cop.

Balo fled towards a small hut where he was cornered by operatives and three gay men were conducting a pot session.

Police identified the alleged drug users as Nino Luberio, 35, Abdullah Opendo, 23, and Hermie Patenio, 35.

All three suspects admitted that they were using shabu and that the illegal drugs in their possession were acquired from Pasil, Cebu through Balo.

The four alleged drug personalities are detained at the Tagbilaran City lock-up jail pending the filing of appropriate charges against them. (Weli Maestrado)
