A policeman who runs his own business was shot and robbed of P50,000 by two unidentified suspects at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The victim, identified as SPO3 Eulojio Casilac, a police officer of the Batuan Municpal Police Station, was delivering bottles of soft drinks in Barangay Alegria, Carmen when the incident happened, police said.

Based on the initial investigation of the Carmen police, Casilac was on his way home when two men flagged down his truck.

The suspects approached Casilac and said “kuwang ang imong gi-deliver nga softdrinks” right before shooting him once, police added.

The armed men then told Casilac to hand over a bag which contained money believed to be earnings from the victim’s business.

Casilac immediately obliged out of fear of being shot again.

The suspects were able to flee using a motorcycle while Casilac was then rushed to a hospital in Tagbilaran City.

Police said that Casilac had a pistol with him but decided not to fight back as he was outnumbered and had already sustained a gunshot wound to his stomach.

Meanwhile, police are confident that the suspects will be apprehended soon as Casilac was able to see his attackers’ faces. (Allen Doydora)
