An armed suspect on Monday robbed P147,000 from a lending store along M. Torralba, Poblacion II, Tagbilaran City in broad daylight.

Police said that the robbery was carried out at the office of the Gold Coin Lending Corporation at 8:30 a.m.

The armed man reportedly declared the robbery after identifying himself as client Sherwin Atup who owes the company P50,000.

He then held a female secretary who police identified as 22-year-old Chrarlyn Ocero at gunpoint.

Before stealing the cash reportedly placed inside a drawer in the office, the suspect tied the victim’s arms and covered her mouth.

The suspect then fled on board a tricycle as seen by Ocero. However, the victim was unable to recall the body number of said vehicle.

Police said that they have a lead on the suspect and are currently pursuing the alleged robber who is believed to be from another province.

On the same day, the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Tagbilaran City announced that it has further tightened security measures against criminal elements as suspected robbers from Mindanao have reportedly entered the city.

City PNP chief Nicomedes Olaivar on Monday alerted Tagbilaran City police forces ordering policemen to conduct Oplan Sita against motorcyclists who ride in tandem.

The operation will be implemented through checkpoints and flagging down drivers of “questionable” motorcycles such as those without plate numbers.

Olaivar’s statement was released after issuing earlier this month a warning on syndicates from Bohol’s 2nd district intending to carry out big-time robberies in the province’s capital. (Weli Maestrado)
