The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) has sought the intervention of a Boholano member of President Rodrigo Duterte’s Cabinet in addressing the issue of erratically fluctuating airfare for domestic flights.

Members of the SP appealed to Department of Transportation and Communications Assistant Sec. Arturo Evangelista, an Ubay-native, to make a follow-up on a request to update policies on air travel.

The SP aimed at urging the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) to review the outdated policies on airfare for domestic travel by plane.

The Provincial Board’s request was conveyed through a resolution passed on Friday morning.

According to Board Member Tomas Abapo Jr., 13 other SPs in various provinces have expressed support for the Bohol Provincial Board’s appeal to the CAB and CAAP.

Abapo also said that he is hopeful that other provinces will also back the Bohol SP’s request. (Rey Tutas)
