All four victims of a head-on collision between two motorcycles on Sunday evening in Dauis were killed as result of the accident.
According to Dauis police, both motorcycles were travelling at high speed when these collided in the national road along the villages of Bingag and Dao.
Police identified the victims of one motorcycle headed towards Tagbilaran City as cousins Earl Pikit, 24, and Jason Pikit, 22, and driver Marjun Bolunos, 28, all residents of Brgy. Bil-isan, Panglao.
Meanwhile, the other motorcycle which was moving towards the opposite direction was driven by Carmel Vizande, a 35-year-old resident of Barangay Mayacabac, Dauis.
According to PO1 Roy Polgirinas of the Dauis Police Station, Bolunos’ motorcycle had no functioning headlight while there were no lampposts along the area of the accident.
It was also noted that both drivers may have been under the influence of alcohol.
Police said that Vizande and Earl Pikit died on the spot while Jason Pikit was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Bolonus succumbed to his injuries while at the hospital.
Police added that all four victims were not wearing any type of protective headgear. (Allen Doydora)Â
