There are lawyers in Bohol who are directly involved in the drug trade, said an official of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) during the Provincial Peace and Order Council meeting on Thursday.
According to NBI Bohol executive officer Atty. Arcelito Albao, a number of lawyers have been added to the agency’s watch list of drug personalities in the province.
Albao indicated that the list of lawyers includes both drug users and pushers.
However, he did not specify the number of drug-linked lawyers in the province.
The NBI official issued a warning against the alleged drug personalities noting that they have until this month to cut their involvement in illegal drug activities.

Failure to stop would prompt NBI agents to conduct anti-drug operations against them, he said.
Albao did not name the alleged drug personalities but noted that the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Bohol Chapter has been notified regarding the reported drug involvement of the lawyers.(Rey Tutas)
