Two men were killed in separate early morning shooting incidents in Inabanga during the town’s Fiesta on Thursday.

Joel Balansag, 30, was shot dead at 2 a.m. in Barangay U-og and Jeffrey Vitor, 32, was gunned down over an hour after in Barangay Sto. Niño.

According to Inabanga police investigator PO1 Collins Cagatin, Balansag, a resident of Brgy. U-og, was a newly identified drug personality in the town and surrendered under Oplan Tokhang.

Cagatin said that Balansag came from a birthday party when the lone suspect who was reportedly waiting for the victim shot him.

Based on reports from residents living near the crime scene, four gunshots shortly before a screeching sound from an accelerating motorcycle were heard.

The residents then found the victim sprawled near his motorcycle.

Cagatin said that Balansag sustained a gunshot wound in his neck from a .45 caliber pistol.

The victim was still rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Police believe that the shooting incident may have been drug related.

In Barangay Sto. Niño, Vitor was shot and killed by men who rode in tandem at past 3 a.m.

According to Cagatin, Vitor, a native of Duljo Fatima, Cebu living in said village, was shot outside a fiesta disco.

The two suspects reportedly waited for the victim to go out of the disco area before shooting him and hitting him in his under arm.

The shooters immediately sped off while Vitor was immediately taken to a nearby hospital.

However, the attending physician declared him dead on arrival.
