A couple suspected to be engaged in selling illegal drugs were arrested by police at a resort in Tubigon on Wednesday.
Police identified the suspects as 30 year-old Allan Alvarado, a resident of Brgy.Luyo Inabanga, and 22-year-old Jedah Mae Milar, a resident of Brgy. Dampas, Tagbilaran City.
According to PO1 Rommel Bacayo of the Tubigon Police Station, they received information on activities of the suspects inside a room at the Maberes Beach Resort in Brgy. Matabao at 7 a.m.
This prompted Ubay policemen to conduct a buy-bust operation at the said resort.
Bacayo said that the suspects sold shabu worth P1000 to a police poseur-buyer which resulted in their immediate arrest.
He noted that they were able to seize seven more packets of shabu estimated to be worth P30,000 from the suspects.
Alvarado and Milar are currently at the lock-up jail of the town pending the filing of charges against him.
On Tuesday, a drug surrenderee in Tubigon was also arrested in a buy-bust operation.
Police arrested Cris Machaon, a 27-year-old resident of Brgy. Tinangnan, Tubigon, for allegedly selling shabu to an undercover cop and possessing three other packets of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Charges for violating Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against him earlier today. (Allen Doydora)
