FAMILY BUSINESS. NBI agents arrest brothers Fidel Salvacion, Glenn Salvacion and niece Rosemarie Cagas who are alleged fixers in an entrapment operation in Tagbilaran City on Thursday.

Two brothers and their niece who are allegedly fixers operating near the city Land Transportation Office (LTO) were arrested by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

The suspects identified as Fidel Salvacion, Glenn Salvacion and Rosemarie Cagas, all living near the LTO office along Dampas Road, were arrested through an entrapment operation.

According to Atty. Arcelito Albao, NBI Bohol executive officer, the arrest of fixers operating outside the city LTO was personally ordered by Gov. Edgar Chatto.

This, after a number of complaints against fixers, particularly from victims of the suspects, reached the governor’s office.

Albao said that the three arrested suspects will be charged for usurpation of public authority and violating the “Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007”.

The NBI official noted that today’s arrest was the first among a string of operations and that daily monitoring against fixers will continue.

Monitoring operations will cover both inside and outside the LTO while fixers who have gone in hiding will also be arrested.

Albao also urged the victims of the Salvacions and Cagas to visit the NBI office if they intend to also file charges against them. (Allen Doydora)
