A 23-year-old man who had refused to surrender despite being subjected to Oplan Tokhang was arrested on Thursday by National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents in Brgy. Manga, Tagbilaran City.
The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Michael Ampog, a resident of said village, was caught through a buy-bust operation at 8:45 a.m.
He allegedly sold shabu worth P1,000 to an undercover agent resulting in his immediate arrest.
According to NBI supervising agent Atty. Arcelito Albao, they have been after Amog since last year but the suspect managed elude authorities for several months.
Albao said that based on information gathered by the NBI, Amog also extorted from students that pass near the cockpit along CPG North Avenue.
The suspected drug dealer, together with companions, allegedly beat up students who did not give up their money.
Albao said that the NBI is preparing to file charges against the suspect for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Rey Tutas)
