A man who was sleeping in his tricycle was shot dead beside his 12-year-old son by an unidentified suspect in Purok 2, Brgy. Tanghaligue, Talibon past 8 p.m. on Friday.
PO3 Luigi Gabisan of the Talibon Police Station identified the victim as Jason Millanar, a 38-year-old resident of the said the village.
According to Gabisan, Millanar was found lifeless by his son, Joshua, who was awoken when his feet got wet by his father’s blood.
The victim’s son thought that he stepped on his father’s vomit but later on found out that it was blood from Millanar’s gunshot wound in the head.
Joshua said that he slept through the shooting as he did not hear a gunshot.
Millanar was too drunk to go inside his home so he decided to sleep in his tricycle right outside his house, said Joshua who decided to accompany his father and also sleep in the vehicle.
Prior to the incident, the victim was in a drinking session with a man identified as alias “Tata Long Hair†at around 4 p.m., added Joshua.
Police said that Millanar was still rushed to the Garcia Memorial Hospital in Talibon but was declared dead on arrival.
Investigators are eyeing personal conflict as motive in the murder of Millanar after gathering information indicating that the victim made enemies in several instances wherein he got drunk. (Rey Tutas and Allen Doydora)
