Police on Wednesday evening arrested a tourist van driver who was allegedly caught selling shabu in Tagbilaran City.
Intelligence units of the city police led by SPO4 Yolando Bagotchay nabbed Marcelino Baquilid, 25, outside said suspect’s residence in Brgy. Cogon through a buy-bust operation.
According to Tagbilaran police chief Supt. Nicomedes Olaivar, the suspect was spotted by members of the station’s intelligence section selling illegal drugs in said village.
The police then set up the operation wherein Baquilid allegedly sold shabu worth P500 to an undercover policeman.
However, Baquilid reportedly noticed he sold shabu to a poseur-buyer prompting him to flee but he was eventually cornered inside his house where police found four packets of shabu and drug paraphernalia.
According to Olaivar, Baquilid is included in the city police and Bohol Provincial Police Office drug watchlists.
Charges for possession and sale of illegal drugs will be filed against the suspect. (Weli Maetsrado)
