A suspected member of the notorious “Salisi Gang” who used a girl as cover struck again on Monday victimizing a 31-year-old female at the food court of a mall in Tagbilaran City.

According to victim Doreen Grace Cesar, a resident of Loay, her shoulder bag containing important documents, ATM and credit cards and P1,500 cash was stolen from her inside Plaza Marcela.

Although Cesar did not witness the actual theft, another customer said that a man aged 30 to 40 sat down beside the victim with a girl who was about 5 years old.

Both the man and the girl hurriedly left with a shoulder bag, the witness added.

The Tagbilaran City Police Station has tasked its theft and robbery section to investigate the case.

In November last year, a similar incident happened at a Mang Inasal store in Tagbilaran City which was captured by the fast food chain’s closed-circuit television camera.

The CCTV footage showed a man using a girl to cover his hands as he stole a shoulder bag from a female victim who was sitting behind them.

The suspect and the girl have yet to be found by authorities.

However, police have not confirmed whether the two crimes were perpetrated by the same suspect. (Allen Doydora)
